Seventh year since the first edition of this book was published, I have received numerous responses and messages from readers commenting on the book. The feedback from the postgraduate students is overwhelming and encouraging. I have been extremely grateful for the positive responses and was excited to undertake a challenge of the new edition. Beyond simply updating the concepts, this second edition provided me an opportunity to further explore the topics and give an in-depth reading.

• The literature of all chapters is updated.
