It has been brought out in response to the increasing concerns expressed on the lack of awareness among nursing students on the procedures to be performed in community settings, and also the limited number of books available on community health procedures in India. The community health nurse’s role is to provide comprehensive care to people staying in urban and rural communities in their home settings. To provide quality care to individuals, families, and communities, to gain the confidence of the people, and to maintain good interpersonal relationships with them, a community health nurse should be clinically oriented and must have the skills of spontaneous decision-making. The Manual is written for the students to make them aware of different community health nursing procedures which they can perform in-home settings, which, in turn, will help the students to become clinically oriented, increase their level of confidence, and earn them respect from the community. The content of the book includes community health bags, steps of bag technique, and various community health procedures which will be helpful for the students to focus on preventive and curative care in community settings.
